Two of Quectel Wireless Solutions’ LTE modules recently received AT&T certification for operating on the carrier’s North American LTE wireless network. The two modules – the LTE Cat-1 EC21-A and LTE Cat-4 EC25-A – were developed based upon Qualcomm’s MDM9x07 modem, and support worldwide coverage of LTE and UMTS/HSPA+ networks.
Quectel’s EC21-A module features cost-effective, low power LTE connectivity, and delivers 10 Mbps downlink and 5 Mbps uplink speed. This makes it an ideal solution for IoT applications that do not require full LTE speeds, but emphasise the longevity and reliability of LTE networks, such as security, fleet management, asset tracking and smart metering.
Adopting the 3GPP Rel.11 LTE technology, the EC25-A offers 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink data rates. It is compatible with Quectel’s UMTS/HSPA+ UC20 and EC21 modules, allowing for flexible migration from 3G to 4G. EC25 also support Windows, Linux and Android operating systems.
